Seljačina

Niall Griffiths

The novel The Peasant by the Welsh writer Niall Griffiths, set in the harsh and idyllic landscapes of western Wales, is a kind of fragmented and atypical biography...

Hick ...of an "innocent bully", named Ianto, in which the author explores the archetypal fears and obsessions, psychological and even physical torments of the main character. In an unusual combination of rural and hyperurban motifs, and the collision of primordial consciousness and high-tech civilization, Griffiths wrote occasionally brutal prose, a novel interspersed with unforgettable black humor dialogues, but also a social, economic and political analysis of the position of Wales in the United Kingdom.
