Kad slonovi plaču - emocionalni život životinja
Every pet owner considers themselves the authoritative interpreter of their animal's feelings.
Few people would deny that animals are capable of emotional life, and science is usually reluctant to discuss it, except as a sentimental fallacy and anthropomorphism. One of the rare books on the problem of animal emotionality and one of the few that, using simple and suggestive language, manages to completely change our view of the beings with whom – most often to their detriment – we share this world. Chimpanzees who are uncomfortable, elephants who paint, parrots who are bored, organized gangs of dolphins that abuse females, endlessly vain antelopes, crows that sled down a church dome, bears watching the sunset – with a series of impressive examples from the animal world, the authors manage to make us well aware of the arrogance and lack of compassion that has made humans superior – to their own detriment.
