Slavonijo, zemljo plemenita: Izabrana proza
The collection brings together the works of three prominent Slavonian authors: Josip Kozarac, Ivan Kozarac, and Jozo Ivakić. The anthology provides an in-depth insight into the cultural and social life of Slavonia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries
Josip Kozarac is represented by short stories that depict the Slavonian landscape and the life of peasants. His works often thematize the conflict between the traditional way of life and modernization, depicting the changes that affect the Slavonian countryside.
Ivan Kozarac, known for his novel "Đuka Begović", brings a realistic depiction of the Slavonian countryside and the mentality of its inhabitants. His prose is characterized by a deep psychological analysis of the characters and criticism of social norms.
Joza Ivakić often depicts the life of ordinary people, their everyday struggles and joys in his works. His short stories reflect love for their homeland and people, emphasizing the values of togetherness and tradition.
This collection, edited by Miroslav Vaupotić, offers readers the opportunity to get to know the rich literary heritage of Slavonia through selected prose texts and understand the social and cultural processes that have shaped the identity of this area.
